During the last 6 months a multi-disciplinary team with German speaking reasearchers, game developers and other interested stakeholders have been working on a new specification on SG Meta data Format. The objective is to improve the standardisation in how SG are described and thereby support the reuse of existing games.
Today the final version was agreed upon in Berlin. The process was initated by Stefan Göbel from TU Darmstadt and managed by So-Jin Kim from DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norm) . DIN is the German standardisation body. The specification will have the number DIN SPEC 91380 Serious Games Meta Data Format. It will be published in July. BIBA (Represented by Jannicke Baalsrud Hauge) as Beaconing partner has been involved in the development of the specification. This is only a first step and the collaboration among the involved researchers and industry will continue. A pre-version of the SPEC will be presented on June, 8 at the GameDays in Darmstadt.
