The 1st International Workshop on Gamification and Games for Learning (GamiLearn’17) in conjunction with CIVE’17, was held on June 5-6, 2017 in Tenerife, Spain. The workshop was open to contributions from researchers, practitioners and industry in the application of gamification or games in learning environments.
During the workshop, Baltasar Fernández Manjón (UCM) gave a keynote presentation entitled Gamification in medical training: from content and procedures to game-like applications. The presentation described the work on serious games, game-like simulations, gamification and learning analytics. It also described some of the experiments done and the approach to do a more scientific approach in the serious games domain. Some of the results from H2020 BEACONING were also presented.
