Location Based Games and Simulations for Science and Medical Training: imaginary experience

Location Based Games (LBG) shape a learning experience, allowing a player not only to deal with scientific concepts but also with an engaging activity that leads to the treasure of knowledge.

This the main concept of the full immersion experience proposed by imaginary during the ECTEL conference 2018 in Leeds: from treasure hunt to simulation and back.

Using GPS signals, meaningful places act both as triggers and as background for a mini-game; locations can be answers of enigmas or meaningful places that set the stage for the learning process. In this case, 4 locations around the conference venue allowed the participants to play a treasure hunt consisting of 4 mini-games, while clues guide them from one place to the next one.
