Manuel Freire (UCM) participated in the eMadrid seminar on “Learning Analytics“. The event was held in the Town Hall of Madrid (Spain) in the 23rd of November 2018. The presentation was titled “Analytics and learning in serious games”.

The abstract of the presentation was the following:

Serious games have multiple advantages from an educational point of view, since they promote active and situated learning while increasing student motivation. Analytics in serious games presents several differences when compared to other, less-interactive contents: interactivity results in increased volume of information, which offers several opportunities regarding how they can be analysed and acted upon. This talk describes the latest results in the e-UCM research group on serious games analytics to improve and evaluate learning as and when it happens.
