Round Table about Big Data and Learning Analytics with IBM and Microsoft

As part of the event “Las TIC en la Enseñanza II: Innovación en el Aula” organized by Vice Presidents of Quality and Information Technology at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), Professor Baltasar Fernández Manjón moderated a discussion about big data and learning analytics. The aim of the talk was to discuss learning analytics benefits and new GDPR requirements with the experts from the industry. The round table was entitled “Big Data y Learning Analytics: Sacando partido al rastro de nuestros estudiantes.” and included the participation of the following speakers:

SHIELD QUEST – a location based component pilot at Coventry

In April 2018 a small pilot took place in Coventry and used Beaconing for the creation and testing of a location-based game. Beaconing at eLSE Conference 2018

In April 19th – 20th 2018 has been taken place the 14th edition of the eLSE Conference – “eLearning and Software for Education”, in Bucharest. Following the positive experience in 2017, further developments in the Beaconing Project and of the key components of the Beaconing Ecosystem have been presented at the eLSE Conference, where ATS is one of the main sponsors. Participants have shown great interest in the ge o-localized quests and the authoring experience.

Seminar on Game Technology and Analytics

Dr. Baltasar Fernández Manjón (UCM) participated in the Seminar on Game Technology and Analytics. This Game Lecture is a Game Seminar with two 30 minute talks. The first one was Using Game Learning Analytics to Improve the Design, Evaluation and Deployment of Serious Games by Dr. Baltasar Fernández-Manjón, full professor in the Department of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (DISIA) at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
