Before the end of the academic year, the e-ucm research group has carried out a new set of experiments in schools to validate the Analytics System with teachers and students. In IES Federico Balart, in Pliego, Murcia (Spain), 9 teachers and 101 students participated during 3 days testing the videogame Conectado and teachers also received information while students played with a dashboard created with the Analytics System.

UCM participated in the VI Encuentro Utopías Educativas during the 25th and 26th of May 2018. The Utopías Educativas Meeting is an annual event aimed at the presentation and exchange of “Experiences of Educational Innovation” and a space for knowledge, dialogue, contrast of ideas and the transmission of illusions among teachers. The 6th edition was held with the support of the ETOPIA Art and Technology Centre, the Zaragoza City of Knowledge Foundation and the IBERCAJA Foundation.

The e-UCM Research Group has created a video collecting the opinions of students that played the videogame Conectado at IES Manuel de Falla in Puerto Real, Cádiz, Spain. The video can be accessed here (video in Spanish). The video presents the experiments carried out in the school and reflects the feedback from various students that participated in the experiments, specifically aiming to know their thoughts about the experience, the features they liked the most about the game, what they considered that they have learned playing, and whether they would like to have more experiences like this one of incorporating games in schools.

Baltasar Fernández Manjón (UCM) gave a course entitled Aplicaciones educativas de los juegos serios y la gamificación at Instituto de Ciencias de la Educación (ICE) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in Madrid, Spain. The course had a duration of 8 hours and was held in two mornings of 17th and 18th of May, 2018. The course was coordinated by D. José Luis Martín Núñez from ICE.
The goals of the course were to introduce the main foundations of games as educational content, to know how games can be effectively used in a class environment and to know the principles and techniques of the games to apply them in other educational environments (gamification).

Experiments have been recently conducted at IES Manuel de Falla in Puerto Real, Cádiz, Spain with more than 300 students and 11 teachers testing the serious game Conectado. The first day, teachers were trained with the game; and then 21 sessions were conducted with +300 students during two more days.
DESCRIPTION OF THE GAME
Conectado is a videogame developed within the research group e-UCM, specialized in eLearning and serious games. The videogame has been designed and developed with the objective of raising awareness against bullying and cyberbullying and is aimed at being a tool to help education professionals to educate on this subject in a more interactive way and with greater emotional involvement of young people from 12 to 17 years. The videogame is a graphic adventure where the player is placed in the situation of a person who suffers harassment in their day to day school. In this way, the player can experience these situations in first person, but in a safe way. It also allows you to experience firsthand some of the feelings of the victims of harassment, as well as to make players reflect on the consequences of their actions. In the game, students can make decisions in dialogues that affect the story of the game and its end.
