On September 06th – 09th 2018, has been taking place the Days of the Targoviste City. During the first day of the event, ATS presented the Beaconing tools in an interactive way, by creating an entertaining GLP, were participants had the possibility to explore the city and learn in the same time. A Special Issue has been called for papers on Gamification of industrial systems.

To address today’s industrial challenges, we invite submission of original papers on the application of gamification in industry; each submission will be refereed on the basis of technical quality, novelty, significance, and clarity.
Topics might include one of the following aspects of this special issue but other relevant topics will also be considered:

Iván Pérez Colado (UCM) presented a full research paper during the VS-Games Conference 2018 held in Würzburg (Germany) from the 5th to the 7th of September 2018. The paper presented was titled Multi-level Game Learning Analytics for Serious Games and comprised the work done partly in the project BEACONING regarding Game Learning Analytics for Serious Games for multi-level analytics.

During the 17th International Conference on Web-based Learning (ICWL) held in ChiangMai, Thailand, from the 22nd to the 24th of August, 2018, Professor Baltasar Fernández Manjón (UCM) presented the full paper Making Understandable Game Learning Analytics for Teachers.
ICWL is an annual international conference on Web-based learning, founded by the Hong Kong Web Society. The 17th ICWL Conference featured a technical program of refereed papers selected by the international program committee, keynote addresses and a Doctoral consortium. Game-based learning and Serious Games appeared among the topics of interest of the conference.
